In this session Dr. Jennifer Abel will ask the client (actress) why she thinks she worries. She will state two of the five reasons that people worry: because she cares about people and because she wants to control outcomes. Next, she will socratically approach how worrying about people doesn’t help them and may even reduce the extent to which she is helping. Dr. Abel will share the research that indicates that people who worry are less likely to solve problems and will draw from the client’s personal experiences about this. They will individually brainstorm solutions for a problem to try to find the best solution.
