In this session, Dr Jennifer Abel investigates why cognitive therapy is best approached socratically and how to get clients to stop “shoulding” on themselves. The concept of saying what you want is addressed both in lieu of “shoulds” and instead of saying what you don’t want.

In this session, Dr Jennifer Abel investigates how to improve progressive relaxation. Dr Abel explains how this method can be much more effective and teaches us some tips that she’s discovered after 35 years of practicing progressive relaxation.

In this session, Dr Jennifer Abel investigates what to do after the first session of progressive relaxation has finished, with the debriefing at the end of that session. She explains the course of the following sessions for progressive relaxation, including lowering to seven muscle groups, then four, then recall, and counting.
