Bilateral Stimulation History and Neural Integration
In this session, Dr Sweeton investigates bilateral stimulation history and neural integration. Dr Sweeton reviews three bilateral stimulation methods: Tactile, visual, and auditory stimulation. Descriptions of each is provided, along with a discussion of the history of bilateral stimulation and neural integration methods.
EMDR Phase 1: Treatment Planning
In this session, Dr Jennifer Sweeton describes the first phase of EMDR with a focus on Target Sequence Planning. Dr Sweeton outlines the tasks of this phase and discusses ways to identify “targets” for Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing.
EMDR Phase 2: Preparation and Resourcing
In this session, Dr Sweeton presents phase two of EMDR and teaches us two important resourcing techniques, which help calm the “fear centre” of the brain and keep us grounded in the present. These techniques can be used in the context of EMDR, or as daily practices to reduce stress and anxiety.

In this session, Dr Jennifer Sweeton explains the important of body scanning after the desensitization and installation phases, and presents us with an easy- to-use body awareness technique that we can utilize both in and outside of EMDR sessions. This exercise helps us experience the link between physical sensations, emotions, and thoughts.
