Understanding Partner Referral Links
Now that you're a member of our partnership program and have logged in, you can visit your Partner Dashboard here:
www.wisemind.com/partner-area/.
Here, you'll see your unique partner ID number as well as your main "referral URL".
This is the link you use when promoting wisemind.com on your website, in social media, in emails or any other method you choose to spread the word about wisemind.com
This referral link will take your audience to our home page, and if they then choose to join up within a 30 day period, you will then generate 20% commission for yourself, if and when they convert to a paid members after the 24 hour free trial.

Generate Links to Other Wisemind.com Pages
Let's say you don't necessarily want to refer your audience just to our home page. Maybe you've written a blog post about trauma and want to link to Janina Fisher's "Advanced Trauma Therapy" page instead on our website.
So in this case, you use the "Referral URL Generator" on your Partner Dashboard. Paste in the address (URL) of the page you wish to direct your audience to. You can optionally enter a "Campaign Name" which allows you to track referrals from a particular blog post, social media post or an email campaign.

Cloaking Your Referral Links
When you put referral links directly on your website, a reader may well know know that you’re trying to sell them something. These links are not only telltale signs of a sale; they are not aesthetically appealing to your websites.
Cloaking, or hiding, your links is the best way to keep the website looking professional while not coming off as a hard sell.
You can use cloaking tools, or you can use an anchor text link. This allows you to embed a link within a certain phrase rather than showing the bare referral link in your content.
For instance, you can add your referral URL to the phrase “Advanced Trauma Therapy” or to a button on your page, so that when the phrase is clicked the reader is taken to wisemind.com and is tracked as your referral.
Disclosing You are an Affiliate Partner
Affiliate link disclosures are a legal necessity, but their use can also build reader trust in both you and your affiliate products.
Even if there is no legal requirement, it is still regarded as best practice to disclose your affiliate partner status and that you may earn commission if your audience clicks your referral links. This builds trust and confidence with your audience.
Having affiliate disclosures is also great for relationship-building and earning the trust of your users.
Even if this kind of disclosure wasn’t required, letting people know you may gain some profit from them right up front makes you seem honest, trustworthy and transparent.
Your users will love this and be happy to help pass on some profit to you for being so straightforward with them about your affiliate program.
The placement of your disclosure must be clear and conspicuous, meaning it must be:
- Placed close to the triggering items so that a user can logically and easily notice the disclosure while reading your review, endorsement, etc.
- Placed on every single page that has a review, endorsement, etc.
- Not require a user to scroll down to find it, especially if your affiliate links are accessible without scrolling. This would mean that a user could see your links and click on them without even having a chance to notice your disclosure.
Some example affiliate disclosures:
"Keep in mind that we may receive commissions when you click our links and make purchases. We try our best to keep things fair and balanced, in order to help you make the best choice for you."
"Bear in mind that some of the links in this post are affiliate links and if you go through them to make a purchase I will earn a commission. Keep in mind that I link these companies and their products because of their quality and not because of the commission I receive from your purchases. The decision is yours, and whether or not you decide to buy something is completely up to you."
My posts may contain affiliate links to wisemind.com. If you join wisemind.com through one of these links, you won't pay a penny more but we'll get a small commission, which helps keep the lights on. Thanks!
