This Advanced EMDR Therapy Skills for Trauma module provides insights and learning on how to integrate EMDR with Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) and Prolonged Exposure Therapy. In this module we also learn how to use EMDR when working with diverse populations including; how to use EMDR with children, first responders and combat veterans.

Integrating EMDR with Prolonged Exposure Therapy
In this session, Dr Jennifer Sweeton discusses ways to integrate EMDR with another evidence-based exposure therapy, Prolonged Exposure. Prolonged exposure has some of the best outcomes for PTSD symptom reduction, Dr Sweeton explains how it works and it can be combined with EMDR.

EMDR with Children
In this session, Dr Sweeton introduces clinicians to ways the Standard 8-Phase EMDR protocol can be adapted when working with children. Dr Sweeton explains how children seem to habituate faster to single, incident traumas. She outlines how resources of art and interweaves can be effective when using EMDR with children.

EMDR with First Responders
In this session, Dr Sweeton explores how EMDR can be used with first responders, including firefighters and police officers. Unique challenges clinicians may encounter when working with this population are discussed.

EMDR with Combat Trauma
In this session, Dr Jennifer Sweeton investigates ways to utilise EMDR skills with soldiers and veterans who have experienced combat trauma. Dr Sweeton discusses ideas for improving treatment compliance and outcomes.
